Block 20.1 Article 2.3 Transfers of Structured Settlement Payment Rights

Amount of Structured Settlements in the United States 2014

There is no conclusive amount from a public source according to structured settlement experts, because "those involved in settling claims and financing periodic payment arrangements are not required to report the data publicly."(see italics below)

We do however have figures of annuity-based structured settlements from 2013-2008, which comprises a majority of the structured settlement industry:

·         $5.13 billion in 2013

·         $4.8 billion in 2012

·         $4.97 billion in 2011

·         $5.5 billion in 2010

·         $5.4 billion in 2009

·         $6.2 billion in 2008

Some figures lessen as the years progress, not because the volume of structured settlements lessen, but because the interest rates decreased.  The volume of personal injury claims has increased.  Personal injury claims increase every year.

Independent professional advisers are carved into the structured settlement landscape to assist claimants navigate this billion dollar industry.  Why go up against life insurance and casualty insurer giants alone?
